Actress Esmeralda Mitre requested a search warrant for her mother Blanca Álvarez de Toledo's residence in Buenos Aires. The search request was made following a family dispute between the two, with Esmeralda claiming she is entitled to 50% of the property. The situation unfolded after the death of Bartolomé Luis Mitre, father and ex-husband of Blanca.
Blanca Álvarez de Toledo sued all of Mitre's descendants in 2021, including Esmeralda. Previously, Esmeralda was taken to a clinic by her mother and a psychologist, despite her initial resistance. After her discharge, the actress initiated legal actions against Blanca, the medical professionals, the Sanatorio de la Trinidad, and the health insurance provider.
Esmeralda Mitre expressed her gratitude to Juan Etchegoyen for his objective and respectful work toward press freedom. She also stated her determination to defend herself against unfounded accusations and unjust damage. Her lawyers are pursuing the legal claim to uphold her rights.
Additionally, Esmeralda had to demonstrate to a court that she is not in a state of poverty. Amid this family conflict, the actress shared a message on social media highlighting this step in her pursuit of the truth.
